AAUW Funds

AAUW Funds, the heart of AAUW, are the largest source in the world of post-graduate grants and fellowships for women. Some of the most commonly designated funds are:

Educational Opportunities Fund Supports education and lifelong learning opportunities for women through graduate fellowships and grants and undergraduate scholarships. Every year a few women working on masters, doctoral or other post-graduate projects at Oregon universities are among the grant recipients.

Legal Advocacy Fund Supports the protection of the legal rights of those who are facing discrimination.

Eleanor Roosevelt Fund Supports AAUW research to provide analysis, data and accurate information about issues that are important to women and girls.

Public Policy Fund Gives members the tools to address government policies that limit opportunities for women.

Leadership Programs Fund Provide programs that inspire leadership qualities in women on college campuses.

Local Endowments and Memorial Funds

Donations to the Educational Foundation through AAUW Funds supply over $3.5 million per year in fellowships and grants for women. Locally our Branch has established and continues to support the Peggyann Hutchinson International Fellowship Endowment and the Kenneth McGraw Memorial Research and Projects Fund

  Peggyann Hutchinson

  Peggyann Hutchinson International Fellowship Endowment
  The AAUW Education Foundation International Fellowship named for Peggyann Hutchinson is in recognition of her long-term service and contributions to AAUW and her love of international travel. An award-winning journalist, Peggyann served AAUW as a Branch and State officer and served on AAUW national committees. The interest on the endowment is currently providing a stipend for a worthy International Fellow.

  Kenneth McGraw

  Kenneth McGraw Memorial Research and Projects Fund-AAUW
  Kenneth McGraw’s family and friends established the fund as a lasting memorial to recognize his life-long commitment to education as a public school teacher and administrator. Believing in the twin goals of education and equity for all, Kenneth joined AAUW as soon as the organization opened its membership to men. He had a zest and desire for learning, both for himself and for others. His memorial fund gives career development grants to women who are advancing their current careers or re-entering the workforce. Grants may also be awarded to AAUW branches, state organizations, and local non-profit organizations for innovative community programs or non-degree research projects that promote equity for women and girls.
