Great Decisions: Nation-wide program designed by the Foreign Policy Association to encourage discussion and debate of the important global challenges of our time. Contact: Janice Williams, 541-857-6300, email@example.com
Happy Bookers: We meet once a month at a member’s home for discussion of a book which has already been chosen for the months of September through May. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1:30 PM for good conversation! The month of January is a time of sharing food and a book exchange at Rogue Valley Country Club and in June we have a potluck lunch to choose books for the coming year. For more information contact Patty Finch at 541-282-8547 or Jan Purkeypile at 541-621-4918.
Morning Book Group: This group meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Chetco Room of Skyline Plaza at 10:00 AM. The books are selected by vote in May and include fiction and non-fiction. Murder Most Literary: This is a book group for those who love to read mysteries. A theme is selected for the month and the person in charge prepares a bibliography. At the meeting after an initial discussion of the topic each person reviews her book with an emphasis on style without giving away the plot, and she shares if the book is worth reading. The group meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Chetco Room of Skyline Plaza. Chair: Mary Wright Gillespie, 541-857-6083.
ACT (AAUW Community Team): ACT is a group of 10-15 women who work on a short-term community project, usually for a few hours only. Events planned for 2016-2017 are of a wide variety, but all are worthwhile tasks that put AAUW in the public eye and generate new members. Several new partnership opportunities are being explored. Contact person: Donna Corey firstname.lastname@example.org; 541-897-0774
